Meet The Team

  • Lori DiCesare

    President and Director

    Ms. DiCesare is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of LPI, which grew from a $5,000 investment to a multi-million dollar company. With offices located in Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Ohio; Ms. DiCesare’s staff has placed thousands of contractors and built a client base of hundreds of law firms and corporations. LPI also holds a presence in Boston and New York.

    With two decades of legal and staffing experience, Ms. DiCesare was named by the Washington Business Journal as a prestigious “A Woman to Watch—One of the 50 Most Influential and Powerful Women Executives” in 2003, and was named one of the “Top 25 Woman Owned Businesses” in the Washington, D.C. area in 2002 and 2004. She additionally serves as a visible force in the business and philanthropic community.

    Her reach into the community extends on a local and national level. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Community Foundation and Gilda’s Club of Greater Washington, a non-profit organization helping those touched by cancer. She has been a sponsor for The Association of Legal Administrators, and has supported such charities as Suited for Change, September 11th Children’s Fund, National Breast Cancer Coalition, Graham Road Elementary School Backpack and Supply Drive, “Lawyers Have Heart” in 2005-2007 and is a 2015 Signature sponsor, to name a few. She is currently on the Board of Director’s for the Law Firm Vendors Association. In 2007 she was honored by CEO magazine for her article for the “Bravo” Women Business Achievement Award. Ms. DiCesare has served as an expert witness in several cases as they related to non-disclosure and non-competition agreements.


  • Kerry Purcell

    Managing Director, Legal Division

    Kerry Purcell has been in the legal recruiting and staffing industry since 1990.  She has been recruiting, sourcing, vetting and placing contract attorneys on projects for her clients since 1996.

    Kerry specializes in the placement of barred attorneys on massive litigation and government investigation review projects throughout the country, in addition to placing contract attorneys with specialized backgrounds, such as IP, commercial real estate, corporate transactional, business and employment immigration, and more. Her expertise includes vetting, staffing and managing of e-discovery and document review projects in English or virtually any foreign language, of any size, at any location, including LPI’s document review centers and on-site with law firms and corporate legal departments.

    In addition, Kerry is well known in the legal industry for her executive search and recruitment expertise.   For years, she has drawn on her deep network of legal contacts, industry knowledge and research skills to identify top talent for her clients.  Clients rely on Kerry to locate the right candidates for a variety of roles, including attorneys, business service professionals, Practice Group Managers, Business Managers, Paralegals, Marketing, Communications, Business Development and Public Relations professionals with law firms and corporations.

    Kerry has prior experience in legal recruiting and as a litigation paralegal with AmLaw100 law firms. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds a Paralegal Certificate from Syracuse University College.

  • Miana Ford

    Support Staff Manager, Temporary Staffing

    Miana’s career at LPI has progressed over the past ten years and has allowed her to master recruiting for both direct hire and temporary support staff positions. She works thoughtfully to get to know every candidate and takes pride in finding the right match for each individual. With industry knowledge and strong client connections, she is able to ensure hiring needs are met.

  • Joanna Davis

    Managing Director, Special Projects

    Joanna has been in the staffing industry for 27 years specializing in business development into law firms and corporations for temporary and permanent employment positions for support staff. She has been with LPI for 18 years expanding her expertise into the D.C. Government, nonprofit associations, to name a few. Joanna received a B.S. Degree from Chatham University.

  • Susan Milkie

    Direct Hire Manager, Support Staff Division

    For over 20 years, Susan has been recognized as a staffing resource in the DC area with experience in placing candidates at all levels. She is responsible for the full cycle of recruiting for professional, administrative and legal positions with a strong forte in Intellectual Property Law. She is well versed in the nuances of the Intellectual Property practices and understands the job responsibilities in the various positions that are specific to patent and trademark. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong network of clients, candidates and resources for referrals. Susan is a certified Yoga instructor.

  • Emily Fabian

    Direct Hire Manager, Support Staff Division

    A member of LPI’s recruiting staff since 2005, Emily Fabian works on a wide variety of direct hire law firm staff positions to include legal secretaries, EAs, paralegals, receptionists, and professionals in Administration, HR, Recruiting, Marketing, Business Development and Accounting.  Emily prides herself establishing lasting relationships with candidates and clients by providing top notch personalized service. She offers candidates an extensive network  and insightful job search assistance developed from recruiting for the top law firms in DC for 12+ years. She is always looking to partner with new candidates to help find the right match and next step in their career.

    Prior to joining LPI, she worked as a recruiter with a national placement agency. Emily graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio State University.

  • Sapphire White

    Direct Hire Recruiter, Legal Division

    Sapphire joined LPI in 2022 and is responsible for recruiting direct-hire candidates for legal positions and beyond. She is remembered for her professional demeanor, matching skills, and ability to put clients first. Sapphire has worked on HR teams in major corporations for seven years and is a strong recruiter. She brings a unique level of knowledge to her role. With a profoundly driven and helpful nature, Sapphire is committed to serving clients, candidates, and employees. She completed her undergraduate degree at The Pennsylvania State University and her Master’s program at Loyola University Maryland.


  • Brittany Prager

    Direct Hire Recruiter, Legal Division

    Brittany joined LPI in 2020 and is responsible for recruiting direct-hire candidates for positions in law firms. She takes pride in helping clients strengthen their teams and helping candidates find their best match. As a former paralegal for six years, with office manager and Capitol Hill experience, Brittany understands what makes a strong, successful legal professional. Brittany graduated from The College of New Jersey with a BA in Political Science and English.


  • Daniel Swartz

    Direct Hire Recruiter, Legal Division

    Daniel Swartz joined LPI in 2020 and is responsible for direct hire recruiting and works on a variety of law firm staff positions within the fields of Information Technology, Finance, Analytics, Business Development, Marketing, and Recruiting. Daniel prides himself on his ability to identify talent locally and across the domestic landscape. As a former entrepreneur within the legal space, Daniel understands how to drive client and candidate alignment. Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and holds a certification as an IASSC Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • Rachel McCarthy

    Staffing Coordinator, Legal Division

    Rachel joined LPI in 2019 and is responsible for the recruiting and staffing of contract attorney positions. Prior to joining LPI Rachel was an eDiscovery attorney, and brings with her an extensive knowledge of the field. She is able to present to clients the candidates that encompass what it means to be an effective contract attorney. She graduated in 2014 from the Roger Williams University School of Law, cum laude from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2011, and is licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

  • Kiersten Cormack

    Recruiter, Support Staff Division

    Kiersten joined LPI in 2022 and takes pride in using her previous Human Resources background to help place both temporary and direct hire candidates in the best fit possible. Her previous experience in various support staff roles helps her to empathize with and understand the candidates to ensure appropriate and satisfying placements. She has a B.S in Elementary Education and M.S in Special Education from Manhattan College.

  • Sean Burns

    Staffing Coordinator, Support Staff Division

    Sean joined LPI in 2019 and is now responsible for pairing both temporary and direct-hire candidates with employment positions. Prior to joining LPI, Sean served in an internship program involved with corporate recruiting where he was able to gain his knowledge for candidate needs to provide them with opportunities. Sean graduated from the University of Maryland with a BA in Psychology and Criminal Justice.
